What to do if you Need your Passport Renewal Process Expedited
Discovering you have an expired passport right before traveling is inconvenient. As much as that will not be convenient, they have a way out. They can either renew it via mail, or go to an agency in person. There is the application form to fill, then making payments, then ending the relevant materials to the agencies.
Many people opt for renewal by mail. The Department of State has a website that shows the news for those tracking how far their applications have gone. They will also have the applicable fees posted there, along with the Form DS-82, called “Passport by Mail.”
The mail option is sometimes not applicable in certain circumstances. You cannot use this method if yours is spoilt, or if it is older than fifteen years. It is also impossible for those who have changed names since the last renewal, and cannot show documents of this change.
